And a couple may show historians and anthropologists things they've never seen before. Others present works by contemporary artists that comment on racism, sexism and other social problems. Some exhibits focus on optical illusions, such as the Salvador Dali exhibit in Hartford, Connecticut.

(CNN) - Expect to view art that may make you question what you see - and what you think - at museums around the United States in the next couple of months.
